Demolition of the Texas Stadium, Irving, TX

By now everyone has heard that the Texas Stadium that housed the Dallas Cowboys is being demolished. It was built in 1971 and the Cowboys played 38 Seasons there. Texas Stadium became one of the NFL’s unique stadium seating over 65, 000. The Stadium is partially domed and has a hole on the center of the roof which allowed fans to stay dry but the fields left open to the elements. Allot of memories for the team, fans, and the City of Irving took place here. With the relocation of the Dallas Cowboys to Cowboys Stadium in 2009, Texas Stadium has been vacant and a drain on the City of Irving with the upkeep and just keeping the utilities on. It was decided that it was in the best interest of the City of Irving to demolish Texas Stadium and use the prime piece of property for something else.

Texas Stadium in Irving, TX not only was home to the Cowboys but it was part of the history of the City of Irving. As Cowboys fans would come from all over to cheer on their team, they got stay in around Irving, keeping many hotels, restaurants in business. It was home of the Cowboys and all of the charities and organizations that they sponsor in their home turf.

There is the Stadium as well as 16 outer structures that include concession stands, the Pro Shop, Restrooms, etc.

The implosion will take place April 11, 2010 and hope all of you can enjoy the boom. Kraft Foods is the sponsor. It will be televised as well as on the live cam and many news stations.
